Kirsten Koos, MD, MPH

Dr. Koos is the Residency Director of the HealthPartners Occupational Medicine Residency Program. She oversees clinical, practicum, and clinical didactic training and is responsible for the program's ACGME activities. She is board certified in Occupational and Environmental Medicine. She is a graduate of this MCOHS program, having served as Chief Resident, following an internship at Hennepin County Medical Center in Internal Medicine, and received both her M.D. and M.P.H. degrees from the University of Minnesota. She has a longstanding commitment to the program having served in various capacities over the years including clinical and practicum preceptor, didactic presenter, Journal Club coordinator, and School of Public Health mentor. She has worked as a Medical Director at both HealthPartners Worksite Health, and presently at State Auto Insurance Companies, RTW, Inc. As a practicing OEM clinician she is dedicated to the health and well-being of her patients, and well-grounded training of the next generation of healthcare professionals. She previously worked at Park Nicollet Health Services, and presently as a member of HealthPartners Medical Group Occupational Medicine Department where she precepts residents, nurses, and medical students. She is a member of the Minnesota Advisory Committee for the Workers Compensation Research Institute. She has a focus on injury and disability prevention, as well as reinforcing and building collaborative endeavors that benefit those we serve on a broader level.



Shawn M. Olson, MD, MPH

Dr. Shawn Olson is a graduate of HealthPartners/University of Minnesota Occupational Medicine Residency. He received his MD and MPH from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Olson specializes in the identification and management of occupationally related injuries and disease, occupational toxicology, environmental exposures, negotiation with employees and employers, disability management, as well as occupational regulations and policy.
